Please Reach Out to an Injured Marine

Cpl. Johnathan L. Benson, 21, was severely injured in Iraq on June 17 and admitted to Brooke Army Medical Center, Fort Sam Houston, Texas, on June 21.

He was in his second tour of duty in Iraq in June when he was injured by a blast from an IED (Improvised Explosive Device).

Folks, this is the second time this young Marine has been injured, and his second Purple Heart. (read more)

He's lost his right foot, left arm, left leg (well into his pelvis), and has numerous internal injuries, including the loss of a kidney, and possible failure of the other.
“He’s in serious condition,” said his mother from Texas, “ but he still has his sense of humor.”

It is a miracle that Johnathan is even alive. He has given so much for his country. Please take a moment to thank Johnathan for his service, and his sacrifices. Send a letter of encouragement, a funny card with a sincere "Thank you!", or anything else you deem appropriate.
