Oh No, You Dint!

Sgt. K. added an amusing addendum to my story of his "goodie box" in the comments section. And, some mighty nice words for yours truly.
Kaylum,
I put you on a "platform" because you did a job, under the most horrendous conditions, without complaint, and with significant personal sacrifice. How being separated from those precious little girls for so long didn't kill you, I will never know. I know they are the very air you breathe.
Your steely resolve, and unflinching courage in facing some of the terrible things you had to deal with will never cease to amaze me. You weren't exactly slingin' chow mah dawlin'.
I put all deployed military members on a pedestal, but it's like I told you after the very first time we "chatted", and as I watched you walk out of that door, into the searing light, and oppressive heat, you were no longer a nameless infantryman on CNN. You became"Kaylum", and for as long as necessary, MY Kaylum.
You're a good man. Welcome home. I love you too.
